EVERYTHING YOU'VE BEEN SEARCHING FOR YOUR ENTIRE LIFE
(or at least the last few minutes)
I guess you’re here because you want a convenient, supportive, affordable and flexible way to get fit, stay fit or get fitter. Well yay – we do that here! We provide individual and group sessions to clients at their own homes, and we run group classes and personal training out of Southern Cross University’s Sports and Fitness Centre. We’re pretty good at mobile training. In fact, we are Coffs Harbour’s premier dedicated mobile personal training service.
But we are also SO MUCH MORE THAN THAT.
We are problem-solvers, fitness detectives, walk-the-walkers, your best friends and your biggest supporters. Most important of all is the philosophy we live and train by; we don’t care what you look like, we care how you feel. We will make you strong, so that you feel strong. We will make you powerful, so that you feel empowered. We want you to be so confident in what your body can do that this confidence transfers into every aspect of your life. We want you to be strong, proud and 100% unapologetically Who You Are. mobile,, personal,, training,, coffs,, harbour,, workout,, wagon
WHAT SORT OF TRAINING DO WE DO?
mobile, personal, training, coffs, harbour, workout, wagon
We like to mix it up and keep it interesting, and our programs vary significantly from client to client depending on their individual needs. We do a lot of strength training with bodyweight and free weights (dumbbells, barbells, kettlebells, medicine balls, pretty much every kind of bell and ball – if it’s heavy we lift it). mobile,, personal,, training,, coffs,, harbour,, workout,, wagon
We bring in a bit of cross-fit style, functional training for cardio-conditioning with plyometrics, sleds, battle ropes, running, skipping, farmer’s carrying and again – a variety of bells and balls.
We do a lot of boxing for cardio fitness…and stress relief…and sanity….and just because it’s awesome.
We are also happy to pick up where your physiotherapist leaves off; we do a lot of work addressing muscular imbalances and optimizing musculoskeletal function. Expect to learn to love-hate your roller. mobile,, personal,, training,, coffs,, harbour,, workout,, wagon
And yes, we bring all this equipment to you.
Our Philosophy - We’re in this for the long-haul peeps. Trust us, when you’re 85, you’re not going to be suffering from panic attacks about that summer bikini body you haven’t quite toned to perfection. You’re going to be cranky that you fall over too much and your bones break too easily. You’re going to be frustrated that you can’t get in and out of “lounge” furniture without calling in the RFS. You’re going to think, “Gosh there really are so many more important ways I can interact with the world rather than with my perfectly sculpted six-pack-abs”. You’re going to be stoked that you can keep up with your grandkids, walk up a set of stairs without needing a defibrillator, and outlast your 20-year-old neighbor in an arm wrestle.
Social media really has made us all a little bit crazy. We at the Wagon will do everything we can to reverse the toxic effects of staring at fitness models all day. We are not interested in perfection. We are interested in finding fun, enjoyable ways to keep you fit, strong and healthy throughout your life span, no matter what challenges you might encounter along the way.
We are also pretty excited (some may say fanatical) about showing everyone just how wonderful physical training can make you feel. We’re not just talking about the endorphin rush or the muscle pump (although they are pretty awesome). We’re talking about your confidence, your strength, your power and your belief in yourself. We’re talking about feelings like, “I just lifted TWO TIMES my own body weight, I am the shit! I am the balls! I am the Master of the f$%k#@g universe!!!”
Feelings like this will keep your head high amongst all the unrealistic and unhealthy expectations that society bestows upon us with its evil screens. Feelings like this will make you realize that you can overcome anything, that you are strong in EVERY way, that you are absolutely fabulous, just the way you are. Feelings like this will keep you alive. So, get on the Workout Wagon, and LIVE.
Jess “HOLD YOUR HAUNCHES” Greacen
Until a few years ago I was a professional jockey. I was very fit and very strong and I felt like a superhero. I felt invincible. It was an amazing life and I loved it. Apart from the wasting (pre-race starving and dehydration to make weight). And the hours (3am starts 13 days a fortnight). And the constant near-death experiences (you get it). I didn’t mind the broken bones until one day I broke my head a little bit. A mild traumatic brain injury was the diagnosis, but it didn’t feel ‘’mild’’ to me. mobile,, personal,, training,, coffs,, harbour,, workout,, wagon
It felt like my life, my sense of self, my beliefs, my cognitions, my neuromuscular connections, my reflexes, my concentration and basically my entire existence had been blown up. mobile,, personal,, training,, coffs,, harbour,, workout,, wagon
So here I am, waiting to help you become stronger than you ever imagined you could be. Waiting to show you that sometimes all you need is a barbell. To guide you on your fitness journey until it becomes a part of your life. A non-negotiable, habitual part of your life. Like showering. Let’s all do that on a regular basis. mobile,, personal,, training,, coffs,, harbour,, workout,, wagonmobile,, personal,, training,, coffs,, harbour,, workout,, wagonmobile,, personal,, training,, coffs,, harbour,, workout,, wagonmobile,, personal,, training,, coffs,, harbour,, workout,, wagonmobile,, personal,, training,, coffs,, harbour,, workout,, wagonmobile,, personal,, training,, coffs,, harbour,, workout,, wagonmobile,, personal,, training,, coffs,, harbour,, workout,, wagon
Just Curious: Why the nickname?
Jess: I’m obsessed with haunches (butts, buttocks, bottoms, derrieres, posteriors, glutes). In a totally un-creepy way. Getting people’s butts to work properly after years of “desk job butt abuse” has taken over my existence. Just a little bit. In a totally un-creepy way.
Just Curious: What’s your favourite form of physical training?
Jess: Powerlifting. Weightlifting. I love my lifting. I love my barbell. I love how lifting heavy weights makes me feel strong in my SOUL.
Qualifications: Bachelor of Psychological Science (Hons), Certificates 3 and 4 in Fitness, Certificates 1, 2 and 3 in Racing, Rehab Trainer (Injury Prevention: Rehabilitation Support), Punchfit Trainer (Boxing: Martial Arts for Fitness), Precision Nutrition Level 1 Coach, Older Adults, First Aid and CPR certificates, Working with Children Check, AusRep: Fitness Australia Registered.
I had to start all over again. I had no idea who I was. I wasn’t strong anymore – I was fragile. I wasn’t invincible – I was vulnerable. I couldn’t imagine any future in which I felt okay again. I had completely lost myself. Then one day I picked up a barbell, and I started moving my body. The effect was immediate – and the more I trained the more I found myself. As my body grew stronger, my mind and spirit grew stronger and I was able to heal physically and emotionally. Years later, I am still finding my strength through my training. I keep getting stronger and with every physical lift I make the more confident I become in myself – in who I am.
